💜 Win Wednesday: Rest, Reflect, and Redefine Your Success

It’s Wednesday — what most people call “Hump Day,” but I like to call it Win Wednesday.
We’re halfway through the week, and the end of the month is right around the corner.
For many of us in long-term care, that means tying up audits, completing reviews, checking staffing, and getting ready to close out October strong — because the goal is to start November 1st the right way, not owing October anything!
But let’s pause for a second. Between the reports, staffing calls, and endless to-do lists, when was the last time you took a breath and asked yourself:
What does success really look like for me right now?
As Directors of Nursing, we wear many hats — problem-solver, mentor, manager, crisis-controller, and motivator.
It’s easy to lose sight of our own version of success while chasing everyone else’s expectations.
For some, success means running a deficiency-free building. For others, it’s having a stable team. Some just want peace of mind, balance, and time to breathe.
Whatever it looks like for you — make it realistic, make it personal, and make it yours.
And remember rest is productive. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
Taking a moment to pause, plan, and realign is not a weakness — it’s leadership in motion.
This Wednesday, as you close out the month, take time to rest, reflect, and reset your goals. Because how you end one month sets the tone for how you begin the next.
Lead with love,💜
