A Nurse Leader's Guide to Making More Money

Updated: Nov 11

Hey Boo Hey! Let’s Talk Money! 💰

One question I get all the time is, “How can I make more money?” Most of us think the answer is simple—work more hours.

But let’s be real: that’s not the only way, and honestly, it’s not always the best way. 🙃

Take it from me—a single mom who used to juggle multiple jobs like I was auditioning for a circus. 🤹🏽‍♀️

I worked nonstop because I had to and ended up building a lifestyle around that hustle. And guess what? That was mistake number one (okay, maybe not the only one, LOL).

If you’re like me, trying to figure out how to make more money without losing your sanity, here’s the tea: the first step isn’t working harder; it’s managing your money better.

If you don’t know how to handle what you’re already making, you’ll always feel broke, no matter how many commas are on your paycheck. Trust me, I’ve been there. 🙄

But enough about that—let’s get into how you can start making more money without clocking in 24/7.

1. Package What You Know and Sell It

Think about what you’re really good at—like, the thing people are always sliding into your DMs or texting you for advice about. That’s where your money is!

You can turn that skill into something people need:

  • eBooks: Write down your tips, tricks, or expertise and sell them.

  • Courses: Teach what you know to others.

  • Coaching: Help people achieve their goals with your guidance.

For example, my company is built around creating digital products—eBooks, courses, coaching programs—you name it.

The beauty of digital products? You create them once and sell them forever. 🤑

But here’s the catch: it’s not about what you think people need.

It’s about what your audience actually wants.

If people are constantly asking you for help in a specific area, ding ding ding! That’s your clue. Create a product that solves their problem, and you’re golden.

2. Start a Business That Fits Your Life

Starting a business is another way to secure the bag, but let’s be real—it can take up a lot of time.

For example, I own a staffing agency. While I love it, it requires employees to run, and managing people takes time. (And time is the one thing I’m willing to pay to get back, okay?!) Holla at your girl, LOL. Let me assist you with your staffing needs!!

If time freedom is your goal, look for business ideas that don’t require you to be involved 24/7. Digital products are perfect for this because they keep making money even while you’re sleeping.

3. Be a One-Woman Show (Like Me!)

Did you know you can get paid to create content? Blogging, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram—it’s all fair game! I literally blog every day (like, as I’m writing this, it’s 11/11/24). 🎉

Here’s my process:

  1. I write a blog like this one.

  2. I turn it into a YouTube video.

  3. I chop that content into shorter posts for my socials.

BAM! One piece of content becomes a money-making machine. 💡 I even make my thumbnails in Canva (shoutout to Canva—it’s the real MVP). I am still a work in progress. I really do enjoy it. Once I learn how to create planners LOL, "Prepare to be sick of me"

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to run a one-woman business, this is it! LOL. I wear all the hats and make it work, but don’t get it twisted—it’s not as hard as it sounds once you have a system.

4. Learn From the Pros (And Share the Wealth)

When I started creating digital products, I thought I had it all figured out.

Then I discovered people like Dan Koe, who made me realize I could take my game to the next level.

He teaches how to package your knowledge and sell it in a way that’s simple and smart.

My ultimate goal is to help YOU do the same. Whether you’re a nurse, an entrepreneur, or someone with a passion for helping others, your expertise is valuable.

You’ve spent years learning, growing, and working—why not turn that knowledge into something that pays you back?

My Final Thoughts (and a Big Ol’ Smile 😊)

Making money doesn’t have to mean working more hours. You can work smarter by packaging your skills, managing your money, and creating income streams that fit your life.

And here’s the kicker—my goal isn’t just to help nurses succeed in their roles. It’s to help you create a life you love, using everything you’ve learned along the way.

So, if you’re ready to make it happen, drop me a comment below. Let’s build something amazing together!

XO,Bilquis 💕
