Never a Dull Moment: When State Walks In on Your Second Day

Hey boo hey 💜,
For the first time in a long time… I paused.
Not because I fell off. Not because I lost discipline. But because I chose expansion over routine.
Over the last seven days, I leaned all the way into AI as a teaching tool. One of my platforms hit nearly 4 million views in just 7 days using short, real-life leadership scenarios to educate, entertain, and challenge nurse leaders.
And what did that tell me?
✔ What I teach is needed
✔ What I share is resonating
✔ And the message is moving far beyond one format
Growth will always require you to stretch how you move — not just how often.
Now let me catch you up…
Day 1 at a New Facility
Yesterday was my first day at a brand-new building.
New faces. New systems. New access (or lack thereof).Still learning where everything lives.
Then TODAY happened.
State Walked In.
Y’all…
A lady walks up to me. Relaxed fit. Backpack. Calm energy.I legit thought she was from therapy.
She stood there for a second… then handed me her business card.
“I’m from the state.”
I busted out laughing 😂 She looked at me like, “Is she okay?”
Then we both laughed.
I told her the truth:
“Today is my second day… so just bear with me.”
That moment right there? That’s the moment where leadership either panics… or practices.
I immediately texted my Regional. The previous DON came in. We pulled it together. We handled business.
They exited unsubstantiated.
Never.A.Dull. Moment.
Here’s the Real Question…
If state walked into your building tomorrow — how would you respond?
Would you:❌
Freeze?❌
Scramble?❌
Start calling everybody in your contacts?
Or would you:
✅ Know where your data is
✅ Trust your systems
✅ Lean on your team
✅ And lead with confidence
Because here’s the truth:
Preparation removes panic. Systems replace stress. And leadership is built before the moment ever arrives.
This is exactly why I believe so deeply in process, structure, and follow-through — because stress deletes memory, but systems sustain leadership.
Final Thought
I didn’t miss a week of blogging.
I expanded my impact.
Different methods. Same mission.
Because at the end of the day…We teach. We lead. We prepare.
And baby…
But Did You Follow Through™?
Lead with love 💜
