Gratitude in the Rollercoaster of Reflection

Updated: Dec 23, 2024

Just yesterday, I was reflecting on my accomplishments in 2024, and I felt proud. Hitting 30,000 views on my YouTube channel was a milestone I never imagined reaching when I first started.

Creating the Fierced and Focused Planner and the Mu’Min Budget Planner was a labor of love that allowed me to share tools I’m passionate about.

I’m so grateful that the Director of Nursing Planner and Unit Manager Planner are still going strong, helping nurse leaders transform themselves and their facilities.

But today? That pride shifted. I caught myself thinking, Wow, I didn’t accomplish enough.

How quickly our perspective can change.

One moment, we’re celebrating wins, and the next, we’re focused on what we think is missing.

It’s like being on an endless hamster wheel—pushing, striving, and barely taking a moment to breathe.

This morning, I had to pause. To simply be still.

To remind myself that even if I’m not yet where I want to be, I’ve achieved so much.

I’m learning to lean into gratitude, especially when those thoughts of “not enough” creep in.

Gratitude for the lessons, for the growth, and even for the challenges that continue to shape me.

Gratitude for the simple things—like seeing, hearing, and being present.

Lately, life has been teaching me to let go.

To release the need to control everything and trust that the journey is unfolding exactly as it should. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been freeing.

Today, I choose to focus on the abundance in my life, the milestones I’ve achieved, and the possibilities ahead.

Tell me, what lessons have you learned this year that you will carry with you into 2025?

For me, it’s the importance of being present in the moment and celebrating every step of the journey—not just the big milestones but the small, steady progress too.

It’s about trusting the process, letting go of the need to control everything, leaning into gratitude, and remembering to be gentle with myself.

2025, here I come: Fierced and Focused!

What lessons will you carry forward?
